Resorts World Catskills (RWC) today is hosting the 46th annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A Thon from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. in the Monticello resort’s 2nd-floor meeting rooms. This event, broadcast live on 98.3 WSUL, has been a cornerstone in Sullivan County, raising over $3 million to date for the prevention, education, and treatment of heart disease.
“The Heart-A-Thon embodies the spirit of community and compassion that defines Sullivan County,” said Meghan Taylor, Resorts World Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Relations. “At Resorts World Catskills, we’re proud to stand alongside 98.3 WSUL in our ongoing commitment to combat heart disease and support the health and well-being of our neighbors.”
Building upon the success of last year, the 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon will continue its focus on three crucial areas: prevention, education, and treatment of heart disease in Sullivan County. RWC and WSUL are committed to funding several community initiatives aimed at promoting heart health, including Sullivan 180’s Empowering a Healthier Generation, Healthiest Fire Department Challenge Turtle Awards, A Single Bite’s Real Food Education Program, Steam Fund’s Full Steam Ahead with Healthy Habits, and Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills.
To support these initiatives, RWC joined the Heart-A-Thon and dozens of other local businesses in selling 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon t-shirts and red and gold hearts exclusively to team members for monetary donations. These shirts are not only a symbol of support but also a means to raise awareness throughout “Heart Month” in February. Employees have been encouraged to wear the shirts and share their photos on social media platforms, spreading the message of heart health and the 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon.
In conjunction with the Heart-A-Thon, RWC will host an American Heart Month Blood Drive today from 12-6 p.m. in the 2nd-floor meeting rooms. This blood drive offers community members an opportunity to contribute to the cause and potentially save lives.
